Mind-Blowing: Creator of Viral AI Hit Imitating Drake and The Weeknd Takes Bold Grammy Gamble You Won't Believe What Happened Nex

In April, the anonymous artist known as Ghostwriter gained viral attention for releasing an AI-generated track titled “Heart on My Sleeve.” Now, Ghostwriter has returned with a new AI-generated song, “Whiplash,” which emulates the styles of Travis Scott and 21 Savage. The artist used AI vocal filters to create this new track and shared it on TikTok and other platforms.

Ghostwriter made a statement emphasizing the role of AI in the future of music, stating that artists can now let their voices work for them without any physical effort. The artist also expressed a willingness to clearly label AI-generated work as such and direct royalties to the original artists if they choose to release it.

It’s worth noting that both “Whiplash” and Ghostwriter’s previous viral hit, “Heart on My Sleeve,” were written and recorded by humans. Ghostwriter carefully emulated specific aspects of the artistry of Travis Scott and 21 Savage before applying AI filters to achieve the desired sound.

Ghostwriter’s team has submitted these songs for consideration in categories like Best Rap Song and Song of the Year at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Harvey Mason Jr., the chief executive of the Recording Academy, stated that these AI-generated songs are eligible for Grammy consideration because they were ultimately created by humans.

However, one Grammy requirement is that a song must have “general distribution.” “Heart on My Sleeve” initially went viral but was later removed from streaming services.

Ghostwriter seems to be making waves in the music industry, sparking discussions about the role of AI in music creation and the boundaries of creative eligibility for prestigious awards like the Grammys.
