Breaking News: Hurricane Lee Loses Its Fury Find Out How It Transformed into a Post-Tropical Cyclone While Hitting New England and Canada

On Saturday, Hurricane Lee underwent a transformation into a post-tropical cyclone as it approached the New England and Canada regions. This transition took place early in the morning, and the cyclone is projected to make landfall later today. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has indicated that the storm will maintain high winds with a maximum intensity of 80 mph.

Even prior to landfall, coastal flooding and heavy rainfall have already been reported in parts of New England and Atlantic Canada. New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are still on high alert, remaining under a hurricane watch.

A tropical storm warning is currently in effect for Westport, Massachusetts, and areas extending north toward the U.S.-Canada border. Additionally, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and portions of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are under similar warnings.

The NHC has emphasized, “A Hurricane Watch means that hurricane conditions are possible within the watch area, in this case, later today.”

Further, a tropical storm watch has been issued for Prince Edward Island, Magdalen Island, and segments of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

These severe weather alerts are anticipated to persist through Sunday. Hurricane Lee is currently advancing at a speed of 25 mph and is expected to slow down later today. According to estimates from the hurricane center, the storm is projected to be “at or just below hurricane strength when it reaches Nova Scotia later today.”
