Breaking: Exclusive - Paul Heckingbottom Keeps Door Ajar for Potential Sheffield United Move on Man City Stars

“Blades’ Manager Considers Return of Young Talents as Transfer Window Nears End

Paul Heckingbottom, the manager of Sheffield United, has left the door ajar for the possible return of Tommy Doyle or James McAtee before the transfer window concludes next week. Both players, who made an impression on loan last season, remain viable options under the scrutiny of the Blades boss.

Tommy Doyle had expressed his eagerness to rejoin Sheffield United before joining England’s under-21 team. The club currently possesses two domestic loan slots, but only one player from the same Premier League club can be signed. Despite the opportunities presented, Heckingbottom has chosen to bide his time and remain patient until closer to the deadline. His communication with Doyle and his representatives throughout the summer reveals an ongoing interest. While Doyle isn’t currently a part of Pep Guardiola’s immediate plans, Heckingbottom acknowledges that the player has alternative possibilities.

McAtee, on the other hand, has been actively involved in Manchester City’s squads this season, even featuring as a substitute during the opening-day triumph against Burnley. His potential return is anticipated and the prospect of reuniting with him excites Heckingbottom.

When asked if McAtee is a player he intends to pursue in the coming week, Heckingbottom clarified that the final decision rests with the parent clubs. While engaging with players and representatives is essential, respect for the original clubs and players’ choices remains paramount. Tom Davies, who had already left Everton, is the sole exception.
